The organizers of the 'A Love Letter for You' project in Philadelphia organized a special train ride on Valentines day; Steve Powers provided the commentary as the train went past each mural in the series. Fortunately Luna Park, of The Street Spot took some great images. See more of Luna's photos & her post about it here.

Steve Powers/ ESPO, with the help of 'the youth of West Philadelphia' is painting a love letter through Philadelphia (from 63rd to 45th) via huge signs. Follow the project on the 'A Love Letter' blog:

"A Love Letter meant for one but with meaning for all."

"After I stopped writing my name on stuff, I made a lateral move into sign painting. The materials were essentially the same, (enamel on metal), the colors were similar,( bold and garish are best) but the effect was totally different. When you paint graffiti, you are an outsider that is broadcasting your signal to the center of the community. When you paint a sign, you are broadcasting from the center of the community to the periphery. Graffiti is a youth testing out a microphone, Signs speak into the mike eloquently and with authority."

Shark Toof recently hit NYC and Philadelphia, and his work is getting bigger and better.
The top two images are from Philadelphia; Shark Toof says:
"Measuring 10 feet by 25 feet, painted in pouring Philly rain with old house paint, dried out brushes, a cup of water, a hard hat to keep the rain out of my eyes, and a trash bag over me to keep me dry...total time: 4 1/2 hours to completion...Thank You Philly."

The bottom image is from Venice, California; the shark is 4ft X 8ft, and the waves are hand painted.
