This piece was done to commemorate the '
Carnation Revolution' in Portugal, the April 25 1974 peaceful coup that led to democracy in Portugal and independence for Portugal's African colonies.
The coup was carried out without arms; the revolutionaries marched through Lisbon carrying red carnations.
The day now symbolizes freedom in Portugal.
Ironically, this piece got Adres in trouble with the police.
