Todd Lown's design for this wall won a community vote organized by the 46th Street Mural Project; he then painted it with at-risk young people via the awesome ArtWorks organization. The City's Department of Neighborhoods provided a grant for about half the cost.
It's so nice to see a city embrace this kind of thing instead of paying for an endless cycle of buffing graffiti.
